A 6-12-month project currently exists for a Senior Legal Project Manager to support a Strategy & Transformation Exec in the implementation of significant change, client service and process innovation. This role is part of the Firm?s client-facing project management team, created to minimise fee-earner time on admin related tasks and provide matter specific guidance on managing resources, defining and utilising matter work plans, analysing budgets and using LPM technology and knowledge management tools to deliver a streamlined service to the lawyers and clients. The success of this role will be measured by: achieving good levels of engagement with key stakeholders; achieving measurable benefits from the activities undertaken; and adding value to the organisation by contributing to the development and roll out of legal project management best practices, tools and techniques. Accountable to the Lead Partner, the role will require you to work directly with UK and international clients on the Firm?s most significant matters, by liaising with the partners and senior lawyers on the progress, profitability and efficiency of the matters and clients.

-Provide LPM guidance on best practices, tools, techniques, roles and responsibilities
-Work with lawyers to draft and submit budget proposals and staffing plans
-Identify issues as they arise, options for resolution and course correction for matters that are beginning to diverge from work plans and/or budget
-Streamline the administrative process around matter management
-With support from the Inventory Managers, track and analyse actual matter costs against budget and proactively address budget variances
-Monitor staffing mix and levels on a weekly basis to ensure work is on budget
-Set and continually manage matter expectations with team members and client
-Develop matter work plans; plan and track matter timelines, milestones and dependencies using appropriate tools and reports
-Build relationships and foster a collaborative approach to working with clients across departments
-Act as the interface, where appropriate, to matter-specific and other personnel at the client, lawyers in other practice areas and offices, external and opposing counsel and third-party service providers
-Contribute to the continuous development of legal project management in the group
-Arrange post-closing matter reviews and lessons learned exercises

As a graduate or MBA with PRINCE 2 or Project Management certification, you will demonstrate a track record of project management/PMO delivery, ideally gained within a Professional Services, Management Consultancy or international business environment, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong interpersonal ability and experience of working cross-functionally.
