Pickfords (Sirva) are the world's largest business and home relocation company and a leader in logistics for integrated high value products

SITUATION

Harcourt Matthews were approached to support the relocation of the entire finance team from Bedford to Enfield

OBJECTIVE

After consulting with Sirva/Pickfords, it became apparent that recruitment support mechanisms they had in place were unable to provide finance staff across a number of varying levels we embarked on recruiting for 17 staff (which was subsequently extended)

ACTION

Harcourt Matthews project managed candidate sourcing and recruitment processes providing candidates to Pickfords at 2nd interview stage encompassing
• Accessing several jobsite CV databases which HML subscribe to covering the active UK candidate market
• Advertising in several online jobsites
• Using our internal and several 3rd party outsourced research businesses contracted to identify and to supply scarce candidate resource
• Specific sector headhunt campaign complementing the above approach
• Advertising: Sunday Times, Financial Times and accounting journal advertising
• Direct mail-shot program to 5,000 CIMA, ACCA individuals
• Agency Management - managing agents like Premiere Work Support and Reed

RESULT

Harcourt Matthews was able to project-manage the placement of 33 qualified, part-qualified and clerical finance staff double the number initially scoped for, supporting the relocation and the subsequent Oracle 11i systems implementation. This process led to Harcourt Matthews becoming a key supplier for Pickfords.
