CB&i Recruitment Case Study
CB&i is one of the world's leading engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) companies, specialising in lump-sum turnkey projects for customers that produce, process, store and distribute the world's natural resources. With more than 60 locations and approximately 12,000 employees throughout the world and a $3.1billion turnover, Cb&i has grown rapidly through significant organic & acquisitive growth and new project development. They have won a number of large projects recently which have come on stream in 2007/8.
An internal review of existing and new projects pipeline identified the need to leverage higher calibre and quality of operationally focused Project - Finance Managers across various locations including London; Milford Haven, Wales; Kent and Dubai. Key objectives included:
- Replenish and develop the strength in depth of high calibre individuals in an organisation that was growing rapidly whilst redeploying Managers onto new Projects
- Identify commercially focused individuals to improve project management information and liaison with Project Directors
Harcourt Matthews established a recruitment campaign and candidate sourcing processes encompassing:
- Accessing HML network & CV database - accessing existing contacts and gaining new referrals/recommendations
- Accessing several jobsite CV databases which HML subscribe to covering the active UK candidate market
- Advertising in several online jobsites
- Using our internal and several 3rd party outsourced research businesses contracted to identify and to supply scarce candidate resource
- Specific sector headhunting campaign complementing the above approach
- Direct mail-shot program to 16,000 CIMA, ACCA and ACA individuals
The campaign resulted in the successful recruitment of 4 qualified accountants and inclusion into the CB&i Group Executive and senior management preferred supplier list for the UK.
