This world-class FTSE 100 commercial group generates revenues in the UK, the US and the rest of the world. One of the main value drivers of the group is this key division, a market leading investor in essential infrastructure assets, totalling 40+ subsidiaries. As a result of impressive business growth, the group is strengthening its presence in the north east of England and key to this, is the recruitment of a Financial Controller to support the CFO. Your brief includes: ·Directorships on a portfolio of company Boards ·Management of 35+ finance staff across the Newcastle and London offices ·Orchestrating the forecasting, budgeting and tracking processes ·Liaising with portfolio General Managers and Chief Executives ·Developing and improving financial systems and procedures ·Overseeing provision of monthly reporting packs and adhoc information to shareholders, including financial modelling, cash management, sales/purchase ledger accounting and financial aspects of insurance matters .Accounting on joint venture shareholder support arrangements .Management of the internal audit function .Technical support on key projects eg: conversion of UK GAAP to IFRS ·Direct financial management services, drive efficiencies and ensure best practice for the portfolio of companies, whilst meeting all aspects of financial statutory regulatory reporting ·Manage and improve controls and internal audit processes particularly regarding concessions ·Responsibility for key training and staffing matters for the wider finance community of 50+ staff Reporting to the CFO, you will also liaise closely with Senior Managers and Board Directors of investments. Additionally, you will manage key external relationships (clients of concessions, advisors, external auditors, other shareholders' Board members and finance departments) and internal relationships (other divisional finance and operations areas). This broad ranging and challenging position requires an experienced qualified ACA, demonstrating a successful track record of achievement within public practice, ideally from the Big 4, or industry & commerce, and accustomed to working within a challenging, dynamic and changing business. As a technically strong individual with keen intellect, enthusiasm, excellent interpersonal skills and strength in leadership, you will be capable of influencing senior management, both internally and externally. |
